Carol Jarvis Biography

Carol Jarvis is an inspirational musician. Originally from Newport Pagnell, Carol graduated from the RNCM with the highest qualifications possible and scooping many awards along the way including the British Trombone Society/Jiggs Whigham scholarship to study jazz in America. Carol also won the first ever ‘International Brass Personality of the Year Award’ from the Brass Herald.

A Carol Jarvis playing John Packer trombonebusy freelance, Carol has worked in all fields of the profession; with well-known orchestras from the London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic & the Hallé. She has also performed with figures such as Bon Jovi, Lulu, John Dankworth, and Katherine Jenkins just to name a few. Carol regularly tours with Michael Bolton and Seal.

Her session work features on a number of commercial soundtracks to feature films, adverts, jingles and albums. She was worked in the West End Shows including Chicago, The Lion King, The Producers, The Rat Pack, Ray Charles and Spamalot.
In October 2004 Carol, aged 26, was diagnosed with stage 2a Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and has since undergone many different treatments, including some world first clinical trials. While maintaining a busy work schedule, Carol helps raise money for cancer research and was involved in one of the first ‘Music in Hospitals’ schemes, playing music for fellow cancer patients.

Future plans for Carol includes beginning to present her own jazz show on a local radio station, playing with Opera North, Welsh National Opera, the BBC Philharmonic, touring Morocco with Seal and recording with him on his forthcoming album in LA. Carol’s debut solo album, recorded at Pinewood Studios, is now available.
