The JP bugle is suitable for any Military groups, and for any trumpet player who would like to use a real bugle for ceremonial and symbolic purposes. The JP Bugle is a traditional Bb bugle ideal for the last post and other bugle specific pieces of repertoire. This reliable instrument provides a clear and warm sound presented in an attractive yet understated finish.
Constructed from yellow brass throughout, the JP bugle has a 3.75" bell, perfect for great sound projection and measures 11" in length (excluding mouthpiece). The bugle features a tunable lead pipe ensuring accurate tuning and also a chained mouthpiece to provide players with peace of mind when swapping between instruments. Available in both a lacquer or silver plate finish, the JP bugle is a worthy addition to any performing musicians collection.
Our bugle band, which was formed in 2012, plays traditional marches from around the time of the Great War and has toured the Somme and the Ypres Salient. Due to our growth in numbers, we had been on the lookout for a number of good quality bugles at a reasonable price, consequently, having seen the JP Bb Bugle advertised on the John Packer website several of us decided to purchase a bugle each.
We were delighted with every aspect of the instrument, and having given them a real good test at such high-profile locations as the Thiepval Memorial (where we were featured on BBC Breakfast TV) , Delville Wood, the Menin Gate and Tyne Cot, I have no hesitation in recommending this bugle. The bugle has a warm resounding tone and having the adjustable slider on the shank allows one to ensure the bugles can all be tuned at the same pitch - the bugle comes supplied in a study carrying case. Not only does John Packer supply excellent instruments and accessories, it also provides a first-class back up and support service. One of our members purchased a bugle for his son - who has only recently joined the band, as a Christmas present. We are really pleased and will be proudly playing our bugles when we tour the Somme this summer.
The JP Bugle is supplied with a lightweight case with hard molded partitions to ensure maximum protection. A separate compartment holds the mouthpiece, reducing any potential scratch marks.
