The JP242 Bb tenor saxophone is ideal for the advancing learner looking to upgrade their student instrument or as a better performing second instrument for a multi-instrumentalist. This saxophone is designed to take the player through the grades and perform to a high standard in groups and ensembles.
The JP242 is made from high grade 80:20 brass to produce a focused and clean sound.
Better quality parts such as blue steel springs improve response as they are rust resistant with better tension memory and the Italian leather pads create a great seal that translates into a fuller, more projected, sound.
These also last longer than conventional pads and are equipped with plastic resonator pads to improve projection.
The instrument also features front F, high F# key and a floating plate design for the little finger (left hand) cluster to aid faster movement. An adjustable thumb rest and sling ring also provides the opportunity to make the instrument lighter with the use of the provided sling and more comfortable.
White keys and decorative engraving enhance the JP242's appearance.
The JP242 is supplied in a fabric case with backpack and shoulder straps and is pocketed in order to store small accessories. It comes supplied with a JP mouthpiece, cap, ligature, JP sling and reed.
