The full conservatoire system silver plated keywork makes the JP282C very high specification for its price point whilst an ebonite body keeps the instrument more lightweight than comparable wooden models.
The JP282C F Cor is supplied with 2 crooks for fine-tuning and features a Banana key, articulated C#, RH trill key and LF F-key. The instrument also features semi automatic octaves and two LH trill keys.
The plateau keywork and adjustable thumb rest allow a more natural and comfortable hand position to be achieved. A sling ring also provides the opportunity to make the instrument even lighter with the use of a sling.
I have used the JP282C Cor Anglais everyday for the last 4 or 5 months and I’m delighted to report total satisfaction with this instrument! Keywork feels very rugged and is quick and quiet, well sprung and the all-important half-hole arrangement is perfect. Trill keys and spatulas operate well and the long rods operate perfectly with no undue play.
I was expecting to have to purchase an expensive bocal, but the 2 provided have proved to be quite fine. Tone quality throughout is very good, especially considering the price!
It is light enough for me to play without using the sling. With an artificial tube this instrument is great for me: since I play and practice regularly (nearly everyday) in a very cold church and I would be really concerned about developing a crack in an expensive Cor!
Altogether a very useful and desirable horn which is a delight to play. Service from the John Packer staff has been exceptional with great advice and support.
The JP282C is supplied in a pocketed case which can facilitate a shoulder strap for ease of transportation along with two crooks, polishing cloth, screw driver and reed.
