For the second year running, John Packer has been shortlisted in the Taunton Deane Business Awards.
Last year we won Best Growth Business for our increased global exports, but this year our category is much closer to home; the Creative Industries Award is for businesses that feature, promote or use creative arts in their business model, and impacts the local area.
The company has demonstrated a commitment to support music and events across the world. Every month the JP outlet in Wellington takes a stand to various workshops. We have also run many successful workshops in the area for musicians to flex their musical skills. With a global dealer network selling our own brand of brass and woodwind, we also regularly accompany John Packer Musical Instrument stockists at external music events and workshops in Europe and America.
Rob Hanson - one of the company's directors, said: "We were thrilled to win last year's prize. Much has happened since; we received our Queen's Award and expanded to a 10,000 square foot unit at Chelston Business Park making us the single largest brass and woodwind retailer in the UK.
"While the business continues to build in exports, engaging with musicians is paramount to our success. In a time where content is everything we need to passionate about music to be credible. Creating meaningful and relative content that showcases our wares locally or digitally is vital to our success. We look to have a relationship with all our customers wherever they are in the world"
The winner will be announced later in the Summer...
